I am immensely grateful to share the news that my “Folding and Mending” series has been selected for the Photolucida 2024 Critical Mass Top 200. My heartfelt thanks goes to the team of pre-screening professionals who placed my work among these talented photographic artists.
Call-for-Entry: “The Handmade Tale”
I am delighted to be co-juror for L.A. Photo Curator’s “The Handmade Tale” alongside the talented photo-artist Diana H. Bloomfield. This international call is for photographic work that includes a handmade component to tell the story, including “alternative process” prints or digital prints with hand-applied techniques. Check out more details here in my latest newsletter where you’ll also find a link to the prospectus.
The Center for Photographic Art has released the names of the 2024 Artist Grant Recipients and I am incredibly honored and excited to be among them! My sincere thanks to the CPA selection committee, who reviewed over 200 submissions and awarded grants to five artists.
Four of the recipients will present their work at an exhibition in the Spring of 2025. I am delighted for the opportunity to exhibit alongside fellow grantees Maria Isabel Saez LeBlanc, Katie Shapiro, and Matthew Finley. You can learn more about the program and awards at this link.
Many thanks to Connie & Jerry Rosenthal for including a second gallery of my work on Rfotofolio, their amazing platform of accomplished photographic artists. Also included are some short stories about some of the pieces. View on the Rfotofolio Website.

I am honored to have my “Folding and Mending” pieces share the walls with Diana Bloomfield’s incredibly beautiful and creative cyanotype and gum bichromate work. We will be discussing our concepts and processes at the artist talk prior to the opening reception.
Curator Elizabeth Avedon has selected 40 “compelling images with a fresh point of view” by photographers over the age of 40 for the “40 Over 40” exhibition at South X Southeast Gallery. I am delighted to have my piece “Rivers in the Sky” included with the work of these impressive artists! My thanks to Elizabeth and to Creative Director Nancy McCrary at South X Southeast Gallery where the exhibition will be on view through the end of February, online at: https://www.sxsegallery.com.
I’m happy to share that our ImageMakers group exhibition “Frame of Mind” is traveling to the Carl Cherry Center for the Arts in January. I invite you to both the opening reception on 1/12 and the “Meet the Artists” event on 1/27. Details in the announcement below.
About this exhibition:
Each photographer has provided a “frame of mind” statement to accompany their image which gives some insight into their creative process. Are they telling a story, conveying a message, expressing a feeling, mood or emotion, communicating an idea? How do they accomplish their objective – use of light, color, line, shapes or forms, techniques?
As viewers, we draw on our own experiences, thoughts, and emotions to form our response to any work of art. We invite you to explore the interaction between your own “frame of mind” and that of the artists in this diverse exhibition.
Endless thanks to arts writer Diana Nicholette Jeon and Frames Magazine for including my “Folding and Mending” work in the latest issue of “The Female Gaze.” In this issue, Diana has curated a group of women photographers who “think outside the frame” in exciting ways. She provides a unique perspective on the blending of process and concept in these bodies of work.
Interconnected is one of my pieces Diana featured. You can check out the article at this link.
